I’m Guilty of Holding on to Things That Aren’t Working, and This Is What I’ve Learned From It…

Let’s be honest—it’s hard to let go of things, especially when you’ve put your heart and soul into them. I know this because I’ve been there.

I was holding on to clients, services, and tasks in my business that just weren’t working. Deep down, I knew they were holding me back, but I kept telling myself, “It will get better. I just need to try harder.”

Sound familiar? If you’ve ever found yourself stuck in the cycle of doing more but getting less, keep reading. I’m going to share what I learned from letting go of what wasn’t working and how it changed everything in my business.

The Struggle of Letting Go

For the longest time, I believed that holding onto every client and offering every service would lead to success.

But instead, it left me overwhelmed and frustrated. I was working with clients who drained my energy, spending hours on unprofitable tasks, and running in circles just to keep up.

One day, I did the math. I realized that one of my most demanding clients was effectively paying me pennies per hour. And yet, I kept them on because I was afraid of losing income.

That’s when it hit me—holding on to things that weren’t aligned with my business’s strengths wasn’t just hurting my bottom line; it was keeping me stuck.

The Power of Pruning

The turning point came when I embraced the idea of pruning. I started to let go of the things that didn’t align with my Sweet Spot—clients, tasks, and services that didn’t serve my vision.

At first, it felt scary. I worried about losing revenue or missing opportunities. But what actually happened was the opposite.

By focusing on my best clients and most profitable offerings, I created space for growth. I had more time, more energy, and more clarity.

I wasn’t just working harder—I was working smarter. And that’s when my business started to thrive.

The Sweet Spot Solution

Here’s what I’ve learned: Growth doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from doing better.

When you align your business with your Sweet Spot—the intersection of your best clients, unique offerings, and scalable systems—you stop spinning your wheels and start seeing real results.

Pruning isn’t about loss; it’s about making space for what truly matters. It’s about creating a business that works for you, not the other way around.

And if you’re willing to let go of what’s not working, the rewards are incredible—freedom, focus, and the growth you’ve been chasing.

Letting go isn’t easy, but it’s necessary. If you’re tired of doing all the things and not seeing the growth you want, it’s time to make a change.

Start by focusing on your Sweet Spot and watch how your business transforms.
